MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII-Captain Lucas Frokjer, officer in charge of the flightline for Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463, reunites with his family after returning from a seven-month deployment with HMH-463. The squadron arrived at Hangar 105 Saturday and were welcomed home by a large crowd of family and friends. The squadron was replaced by HMH-363 who deployed to Afghanistan in August in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Lance Cpl. Jonathan R. Valencia, a rifleman with Company E, Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, provides security for his squad during a MEU pre-deployment training exercise, Sept. 12. The training exercise is in preparation for the MEU's upcoming deployment. The 31st MEU is the only continuously forward-deployed MEU and remains the nation's force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
