Philippines
- An integrated squad of Marines from Company G., Battalion Landing
Team 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, and Philippine Marines of the
33rd Battalion, 33rd Marine Company, rush for cover after being inserted
by helicopters from Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron-262 (REIN) during
a helicopter raid exercise here, Oct. 14. The training was part of the
29th iteration of the annual Philippines Bilateral Amphibious Landing
Exercise, designed to increase interoperability between U.S. and
Philippine forces while strengthening their long standing bond.

acquired this new exhibit. The pair of Talos missiles were manufactured
at the Bendix Missile Plant on Beiger Street in Mishawaka from 1955-79

currently reinforcing the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU),
practice clearing structures at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Oct. 10, 2012. BLT
3/2 is one of the three reinforcements of 26th MEU, which is slated to
deploy in 2013.

The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS McCampbell (DDG 85) fires its MK45 5-inch lightweight gun during a live-fire exercise. McCampbell is part of the George Washington Carrier Strike Group, the U.S. Navy's only continuously forward-deployed carrier strike group, based out of Yokosuka, Japan, and is currently conducting a routine western Pacific patrol in support of regional security and stability of the vital Asia-Pacific region. SEA (Oct. 12, 2012) The Nimitz-class aircraft carriers USS John C.
Stennis (CVN 74) and USS George Washington (CVN 73) are underway
together in formation in the Andaman Sea. Ships and aircraft of the
George Washington and John C. Stennis carrier strike groups are
conducting exercises to increase interoperability, readiness, and the
capability to respond quickly to various potential crises in the region,
ranging from combat operations to humanitarian assistance. The U.S.
Navy is constantly deployed to preserve peace, protect commerce, and

Cpl. Anthony C. Bocz, assessment consequence management team member,
Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense Platoon, 15th
Marine Expeditionary Unit, adjusts the M50 field protective mask on a
Marine from Weapons Company, Battalion Landing Team 3/5, 15th MEU,
during a class on CBRN defense aboard the USS Peleliu, Oct. 4. The 15th
MEU's CBRN Defense Platoon is spending an entire month preparing the
2,400 servicemembers that make up the MEU on how to properly operate in
contaminated environments. The 15th MEU is currently embarked as part of
the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group, while they serve as the nation's
rapid-response sea-based Marine Air Ground Task Force for Western
Pacific Deployment 12-02. Bocz, 20, is from Sacramento, Calif.
