An Air Mobility Command C-130 Hercules deployed from the Texas Air
National Guard lifts off April 21, 2013, from the 386th Air
Expeditionary Wing, Southwest Asia. The C-130 Hercules primarily
performs the tactical portion of the airlift mission. The aircraft is
capable of operating from rough, dirt strips and is the prime transport
for airdropping troops and equipment into hostile areas. (U.S. Air Force
