Fort
Carson Soldiers, assigned to 52nd and 4th Engineer Battalions, assist
efforts to contain the Waldo Canyon Fire at the U.S. Air Force Academy
in Colorado Springs, Colo. The engineers used bulldozers and support
vehicles to create strips of cleared earth called firebreaks, ranging
from eight to 100-feet wide, to stop the wildfire's progress.
